A Detroit native, Hutchison's returned to Michigan after 26 years in Hollywood, CA, to teach The Art of Stillness -- an approach to acting that can be applied to all creative endeavors [and to life itself], produce/direct/and act in several films [based on his original screenplays], and to launch his company, Dark Water Management, in an effort to help local talent manifest their dreams.

Hutchison’s autobiography, "Flushing Hollywood; Fake News, Fake Boobs", will be published in February 2020 and a oneman show [based on his book] will tour theaters nationwide as well.

Hutchison’s also in the midst of writing a children’s book entitled “Dourtney the Dreaming Dog” based on his beloved 6-year old Italian Greyhound, Dourtney, who — according to Doug — sleeps [and dreams] most all day and night!

Doug and Dourtney currently live in Royal Oak, Michigan.
